Sleepy Mama

I wonder if there is any possible way to start training your unborn child to sleep at night and not during the day!
I know that the experts say babies are rocked to sleep by all your movement during the day, and they are usually most active when you are still and quiet. Well, this boy in my belly is doing just that!

Baby boy (can't wait until we decide on a name ha!) is also carrying SO LOW! I don't remember Case carrying as low as this guy. I literally feel like he's going to fall out sometimes! Ha! So besides being super low, he kicks me all night long. I can usually sleep through it but I have entered the stage in pregnancy where I pee three or four times a night. Then, with my dear husband snoring his ridiculously loud snores it's almost impossible to get any sleep around here anymore! Last night I moved to the guest room around 4:30am but the baby decided to have a party in there so who knows how long I laid there restless!

I've learned quickly after becoming a Mom that I am the kind of person that needs my sleep or I'm not so pleasant...so I'm hoping to take a little nap when Case does today! :)

The days aren't too hard to get through though, because I know we are leaving for the beach in TWO DAYS! My birthday present, the iphone 4 is also supposedly being delivered tomorrow, (FINALLY) so that's exciting too!

Family Pictures!

I was itching to get some family pictures taken, and we are so thankful to have such a talented photographer to do so!  Our close family friend, Shauna Doty is so talented and I'm so glad we have her to capture these moments!

Shauna took Matt and I's anniversary photos out at Talon where we were married, and took some wonderful Christmas pictures of Case when he was a teeny little thing. It has been far too long since we've had family pictures taken, and I couldn't wait for her to get behind her camera again!

This time we went to Waveland Historical Site, it's absolutely gorgeous, and she got some amazing shots! She is unbelievable!

Here's a preview!

See what I mean?
Can't WAIT to get these in frames!

As of Lately...

Well, let's see... I turned twenty four. It's so wild how your twenties slip by without you even knowing it. I still feel twenty years old.

Sometimes I just sit back and think about how unbelievably blessed I am. I am exactly where I wanted to be at this point in my life. I always said I just wanted to be happily married and have babies. I knew then like I know now: it's where I am supposed to be.

I am married to an amazing husband who loves me more than anything. We have a sweet sweet toddler, and we have another sweet baby boy on the way. How extremely amazing is that?! My heart melts thinking about adding another baby into our family. I cannot wait to meet him, to see what he looks like, to hold him in my arms and snuggle, to bond with another sweet child that God has given us.(Only about 4 months to go!)

This month we also celebrated our FOUR YEAR wedding anniversary! We didn't do anything special this year, and it was almost comforting knowing that we didn't have to! We have vacation coming up soon, and we agreed that was our present this year. :) We have some ideas for our five year though. Talon Winery gave us a signed bottle of wine from our wedding, and we meant to drink it on our one year anniversary and totally forgot. So, we are going to pop it open on the big five year anniversary. I'm hoping we can sneak away for a weekend for a Cincinnati Red's Game or maybe a Dave Matthews Concert! Something super fun that we both would love to do. Looking forward to spending all my years with my man! :)

Other than that we are just waiting for Hilton Head! We leave THIS Saturday, we cannot wait!

Toddler Vocabulary!

This is a probably a pretty boring post, it's more for me than anything! Case is getting closer to two, and we've been thinking more and more about his vocabulary. I've started to talk to other Mom's and I've read a little bit about where he should be at his age.  All of his words aren't crystal clear yet, but he definitely gets his point across. All of the experts say as long as he is pointing, (which he doing as I type) and letting you know through some sort of communication what he needs and wants then he is right on track. (They also say boys aren't in a hurry like the girls are to talk) :)

We aren't worried, but I was curious to see how many words he actually knew by writing down all the ones I can think of off the top of my head - a lot more than I realized! (He can just about repeat anything you say these days...these are just the one he knows as of right now...and he can understand much more than what he can actually say out loud)

Wow, do I sound like a Mom or what? Ha!

Can't wait for him to talk more and more!

Littlest Man!

I'm 21 weeks pregnant today!

According to our ultrasound at 20 weeks, baby was weighing around 13 oz, and according to websites baby is about 10.5 in long!

Well, this baby boy in my belly has been moving around like a crazy man, I feel him all over my belly. I imagine him doing some wild stunts in there, and last night Matt (without a doubt) felt him kick and it made my night! We had been trying to get him to feel it for a couple of days, but he wasn't ever quite sure he actually felt the baby or if it was just me breathing or something, but last night I felt a huge kick and Matt said "Oh yeah! I felt that one!"

Feeling a baby move inside of me is without a doubt one of the most amazing things I've ever experienced, and it gets even better when your husband can be a part of it too. :)

p.s. We're now trying to decide between the names Easton and Rhett, we love both of the names so much and keep going back and forth!

Trip To The Zoo!

We couldn't wait to take Case man to the zoo, he loves animals. He has had so much fun at the petting zoo's we've been to, so we knew he would go crazy with the real deal!

It was super hot, but Case was an unbelievable trooper, he literally didn't cry or fuss once, even with the heat and zero nap, and he pointed, clapped and said "Whoaaah!" with almost every animal he saw! (Except for the boring sleeping ones) :)

and this is what a boy looks like after a big day of fun at the zoo...

It's a...

BOY!

Our appointment was at 10:30am, Case and I were waiting in the ultrasound room, and Daddy met us soon after from work. There was only one couple in the waiting room before us so I was excited that we wouldn't have to wait too long!

Case was being cute playing peek a boo with himself in the mirror when the receptionist asked me to fill out our family health history, and before signing it I realized it said "No children under the age of 5 are allowed in the ultrasound room"

"Matt! Look at this!"
"Um, that sucks"
"Oh my gosh, I had no idea...do you think they will maybe let him in?!"

No one was at the desk at the time, but just a few minutes later our ultrasound tech called my name and I asked her if Case could come with us, she said "I'm so sorry but he's not allowed in the room"

It absolutely broke my heart that Matt couldn't come with me, we were looking forward to seeing our sweet baby and finding out what it was together!

Well, she sets me up for the ultrasound, and I let her know that we'd love to find out the sex if she was able to find out.

"Would you like me to hide the sex from you and then put it in an envelope so that your husband and you can find out together?"
"Oh my goodness, yes! Thank you so much that would be perfect!"

Well, she measures all of the body parts, baby is about 13 oz and I was measuring at 20 weeks and 6 days, which would make my due date November 19 instead of the 23, but since they were so close they didn't "officially" change my date. Baby was so sweet in there, and had the most precious profile!

Well, through the whole thing I couldn't help but wonder if I saw something - or lack there of. While measuring the baby's head I asked her if she already knew what it was, and she said "Oh yeah!" Well, then I was totally confused because nothing on that screen showed me anything for sure!

Well, after I cleaned all the goo off my belly, I walked to the desk and she said she was out of envelopes so she folded the picture in half and put tape on it...I flew out of the room and said...

"Come on Matt! I don't know what it is yet, lets go look!"
(At this point the waiting room was full and I wanted this to be our moment, so we went into the hallway)

"Okay Matt, you get to open it because you weren't able to come in the room"
He opens the picture and practically yells,
"BABY BOY!!!"
"AHH!! REALLY!?? I thought it was a girl the entire time because I didn't see anything!"

I was so unbelievably giddy from then on, I was talking super fast and was so excited I couldn't contain myself, I know I was smiling ear to ear!

Our nurse told us that boys were much easier, and our Doctor was so happy for us! He also told us that I was completely healthy, he wasn't worried about a thing, and that the ultrasound was beautiful.
Always so good to hear!

We are so thrilled to not only have another sweet baby boy, but to give our big baby boy a little brother. I will be totally outnumbered but I would not have it any other way.

I absolutely love my boys, all three of them! :)

p.s. We're pretty set on the name Easton, but are still working on a middle name :)

Granny's House

Matt and I had Fourth of July Weekend plans for what we think is the first time since Case was born, we were at the beach last year with the family, and the year before that I was so pregnant I can't even remember what we did!

This year, we had plans (with amazing friends) to go to the lake all day Saturday, and to watch fireworks on the water, then a cookout Sunday evening - but what were we going to do with our sweet little man??

Thankfully, Mom agreed to watch him down at Granny's for the weekend, and I quickly decided that Case and I would go on down Thursday because I wanted to spend some time there too!  Then I would leave, and pick him up half way the following Monday. We even talked Avery into coming with us! :)

Granny's house (especially in the summer) is almost magical, I still feel the way I did as a kid when I get there, it's gorgeous, time is slower, and everything is just better in the country. :)

As you can tell, Case and all of the cousins and second cousins had SO much fun together! I loved every minute of it, and I know little man had fun at Granny's house while Mama and Daddy were gone.

Here's a couple of pictures from our Weekend!

We had such a great time with such amazing friends, and yes that's me rocking the O'Douls non-alcoholic beer with a baby belly :)

Crazy, Busy, Wonderful Summer Time

Summer has been flying by!

We've been pretty busy around here, even though our big plans for the summer are yet to come, we've had lots of fun little plans and visits that have seriously made the days soar!

  • Mamaw & Papaw came into town to bring us the new Adirondack chair Papaw made for Case! The one he has now is just his size, and by the time baby comes and will be able to fit into it, Case was going to need a big boy chair! :) He loves it!
Papaw surprised us by also bringing Case a beautiful bowl he made! He signed both of them, and we love how special they are and will become to our kiddos for years to come. :) We had such a great time visiting with them!

  • Case has been obsessed with his Daddy's camo hat lately, and I can't get over how cute he looks in it!

  • We've had some pool days here & there...

  • We had a crazy wind storm, and had to remove a tree that went down, Case and Gunner enjoyed watching :)

As you can see, Gunner has grown like a weed! Case and Gunner still get along beautifully, and I even caught Case draped across Gunner's back, and laying his little head down while our puppy gobbled up his dinner, and the sweet puppy didn't even flinch a muscle. I about melted!

  • This baby in my belly has been moving around like CRAZY! I know it won't be long before Matt will be able to feel it too! Can't wait!

Coming up this month:
  • July 8 - Our Big Gender Revealing Ultrasound!!!
  • July 11 - Taking Case to the Zoo!
  • July 31- Leaving for Hilton Head!
