Mini Thanksgiving at Our House

We always try to do something little with my side of the family for Thanksgiving.

Even if it means a lot lower key.
So this year, with Ashland Wednesday &Thursday & Amy & Tim having
Thanksgiving dinners Thursday, and Saturday,
we decided to have dinner at our house Friday evening.
(Big brother and his wife aren't able to come in at all this holiday season,
so we are missing them!)

Amy brought a yummy yummy cheese ball,
we had salad, chicken lasagna, and traditional Thanksgiving pies made by Mom!
It was very laid back, was perfect.

I think everyone was a little worn out from Thanksgiving festivities just the day before,
we all lounged around, watched a couple of Christmas movies, boys watched football,
and ate and ate and ate.

Rhett's talking to baby in the picture below,
he is constantly saying,
"Hi Baby!"
"I want baby to come out!"
"What are you doin' baby?"

If you ask him what baby is doing, he says all kinds of things, like,
"He's changing. He lookin' at me! He's closin' him eyes."
...and yes he always uses "he" when referring to baby,
although if you ask him if it's a boy or a girl, he answers differently every time.
Case, on the other hand is 100% convinced it's a boy,
as "girls are yucky!!! I don't like girls!"

However, Case said he likes THREE girls and preschool the other day!
One of which is his "favorite" and tells us they are all "cute and pretty!"
OH MY!!! Hee!!!
"Sooo Case, what do you like about her??"
"Cuz she's CUTE and I LOVE HER!"
Oh. my. word.
These boys are going to keep me on my toes!

Cy brought his cute and pretty girlfriend over! Hee!
...and I do believe Case and Rhett were both very flirtatious with her at some point through the evening, stinkers! ;)

Griffin bug!

Our low key evening was just what I needed,
it was fun, and the kids had us cracking up!

Our boys were exhausted, we have had a busy week,
their red cheeks and ears gave them away.
Our poor Case who has had too much busy, and not enough naps (as in zero)
had about 57 melt downs, so it was off to bed as soon as everyone said "Good-bye"

Very thankful for spending time with lots of family this Thanksgiving week.

Our house is already decorated on the inside,
so we are looking forward to getting outside lights up,
and so excited for lots of Christmas traditions coming up in December!

I also need to get on my Christmas shopping!
...and here's one of our first belly shots. :)

13 weeks and 5 days here... just a couple of days away from that glorious 2nd trimester!

So blessed.

Thanksgiving in Ashland

We headed to Ashland Wednesday afternoon,
Matt took the whole day off before Thanksgiving which was so nice!

Boys were excited about going to Nanny & Poppy's house!
We had fun checking out their brand new RV,
and watching Christmas movies on Netflix.
Matty helped his Mom make broccoli casserole,
and we ordered pizza, since Sally had cooked all day long!

Well baby didn't like pizza apparently,
sooo nausea plus a cold made for a pretty miserable night
spent in the bathroom, on top of not being able to breathe.
Yuck!

Thankfully symptoms let up in the morning, and I felt much better!
Man, with the boys I felt 90% better around 10 weeks.
Come on little baby in my belly!! ;)

I convinced the boys to stay in their room until about 8am
playing with their closet full of toys at Nanny & Poppy's
...
since they woke up around 6am!!!

Then it was play, play play!

We had packed the boys snow gear,
(some of which we just received from a sweet family at church!)
so with the promise of sledding,
we bundled up and headed out!
The boys had a BLAST, and so did Mommy & Daddy watching them!

Oh my gosh, Rhett was cracking us up,
he's a lot lighter than Case, and kept hitting those leaves at the bottom of the hill,
and flipping!
Laughing, and carrying his sled up to do it again!

The boys were adorable taking turns, and helping each other up the hill.
Rhett ended up getting a little nervous,
it was his turn again and he said,
"No it scary. I not going."
So we had Daddy go to the bottom of the hill and catch them after that,
and every time Case went down Rhett would run down and say
"You okay Chase??" (he calls him Chase ;)

I love watching them having so much fun!
I love sledding.
Hands down one of the best things about winter.

I, however, need to get some boots with some traction,
I just about busted my butt over and over, baby and I had to stay at the top of the hill!

Love my boys. So much.

...

Then it was inside for Rhett's nap,
and finishing up Thanksgiving prep to do lists.

Rhett was still snoozing as we ate dinner,
which I promise was better.
Nanny had nice china out, and I would have been a nervous wreck!
:)

The food was delicious, and the table setting was beautiful.

We enjoyed spending time with our Ashland family,
& came home with lots of yummy left overs!

13 week check up!

It sounds SO good to say,
"This is my last week of my first trimester!"

However, if baby would start treating me like I'm in my second trimester,
that would be greeeaaat. ;)
Little baby in there is still making this Momma sick.
I'm usually very good in the mornings,
normal energy, go, go, go
then around 4-5pm I start crashing.
Belly starts hurting,
nausea, horrible taste in my mouth comes back,
been getting sick almost every night.
Appetite is back for the most part,
but it seems baby doesn't seem like to like a lot of things I feed him/her.
Which is not nice, because I crave things, only to throw them up.
It's not a very fun cycle!

I feel like I can see the light at the end of the tunnel though,
it's nothing like the very beginning,
I am actually cleaning, and doing laundry again! Ha!
Energy is back for most of the day,
just exhausted and very blah in the evenings.
My sweet husband has been amazing.
I have been so emotional about feeling so bad,
and feeling like I am putting all the responsibilities on him in the evenings.
I have nightly melt downs about being sick and tired
or feeling sick and tired!

HOWEVER,
enough complaining about the not so pretty side of pregnancy,
and on to the check up!

Matt didn't go with me this time,
as it was just a routine check up.
Mommom & Grand-Dad came to the house to watch the boys for me,
When I arrived, I was informed he was actually delivering a baby,
and should be back in about an hour!
He was actually back in about 1/2 an hour,
so came back and got my vitals checked etc.

He had a PA student with him, who was going to check baby's heart beat.
Now, let me first say,
Dr. Y is sort of intimidating,
I can always sense the nervousness and absolute terror some of his students have around him!
This girl was one of them.

She put the gel on the Doppler,
and put it on my belly, right under my belly button.
She could only find my heartbeat for a minute or so.
I think Dr. Y could sense a little fear rising on my part,
I was getting anxious to hear that quick thump, thump, thump of my baby's heartbeat.
Dr.Y kept saying,
"That's maternal heartbeat."
"Still maternal heartbeat."
"Find her pelvic bone, you are way too high."
"That's still maternal?" she asks nervously...
"Yes."
"Look, her pelvic bone is WAY down here."
"Oh.."

thumpthumpthumpthumpthumpthump

There's that precious sound.
Bless her heart, I know she was nervous,
but it was a scary couple of minutes for this Momma.

Heartbeat was a healthy 165.
...and he also said the chance of miscarriage go down significantly at this point.
Which I always love hearing.

However, we found out, that the ultrasound office is no longer doing gender reveal ultrasounds as of December 1st, which means our hopes of finding out the gender before Christmas, are not going to happen! It was only $50 there, as opposed to the $99 at the spa places around town, which we are just not willing to pay.
Sooo, we'll be patient and wait for that 20 week ultrasound around January 13th. :)
Will be something to look forward to after Christmas!

Next check up is middle of December, I'll be 16 weeks.
It's starting to go a little faster now!
I think the business of the holidays are helping with that! :)

I'll be 14 weeks on Monday, December 2nd...
HELLO 2nd TRIMESTER!

Rhett's 3rd Birthday!

We couldn't wait to celebrate our wild, crazy, sweet, tender hearted Rhett!

On one hand, we couldn't believe he was already three,
but on the other hand, that boy has been pretty successfully keeping up with his big brother since he was about 1 1/2, so sometimes he seems more like a 3 1/2 year old already!
I mean seriously, that boy doesn't have limits.
He can do just about anything he sets his mind too.

He can climb any structure you put in front of him.
He can dress and undress himself.
He can find just about anything he wants in the kitchen,
and if he can't reach it, you better believe he'll figure out a way to get it.
He can't quite reach the light switches yet, so he will go get a plastic dinosaur or elephant and use the tail or trunk to turn the light on or off.
He puts in movies, gets out puzzles, draws on tables cabinets and toys (OH MY!)
He can climb over or open all our baby gates.
He is a smart little stinker!

A stinker who was super excited about his birthday this year,
it is so precious to see how much they remember about birthdays as they get bigger!

We started out with chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast!

and, because I literally can't NOT put this on here,
here is our naked little crazy,
running around the morning of his party saying,
"I NAKED! I NAKED! HAPPY BIRFDAY I NAKED!"

He is insane.
...and I have to save this and remember to share this on his 18th birthday,
and at his wedding! Hee!

After naps, our family came over for Spinach dip, salad and pizza,
and to help us celebrate our big 3 year old!

We had a dinosaur themed party,
complete with lots of "ROARING" from a little 3 year old!

He was so sweet after opening presents,
we told him to give everyone a hug, and say, "Thank you!"
and as he went around,
he started saying,
"Thank you for my party!" to every single person as he hugged them.
It was precious, and melted Mommy's heart.

Happy happy 3rd birthday you sweet little crazy!
We love you so so much!
