Our Baby Waved To Us Today!

Well we had our first ultrasound today for Baby #2!

(9 Weeks and 6 Days)

We were so excited, it still didn't seem "real" until today, something about actually seeing your baby and talking to a Doctor really confirms reality!

Well, this is sort of random but, I've had a lot of people jokingly ask me "What if you are having twins!".  It made me so nervous! Not that I wouldn't be happy with whatever God blessed us with, but my goodness that would be a surprise! My niece Avery was convinced, and Mom even had a dream I was having twins!
I was almost convinced that the ultrasound would reveal two teeny babies inside my belly.
Then...Matt asked me while we were walking to the Ultrasound Suite

"What if we are having twins?"
"What is with everyone asking me that??"

Well as soon as the ultrasound began, I asked the technician...
"There's only one baby in there right..."
"Well....." she said, and paused.
(I almost had a heart attack right then and there)
"I only see one baby in there" she smiled.

Shew, I have to admit I was very relieved. I think God knew I couldn't handle twins, a puppy and a toddler! :)

The ultrasound was absolutely amazing. With Case's first ultrasound, I went in at what I thought was 8 weeks along, but the ultrasound revealed I was only 6 weeks along and all we really got to see on the screen was a teeny tiny blob. A blob with a heartbeat, but still just a blob.

This time though, we saw a baby! I couldn't believe it! It has a head, and a belly and it was waving to us with both of his/her hands, and his/her legs were moving around like crazy! It's so odd to see the baby moving around like that and not feeling a thing yet! Baby is only about 3 cm long she said, baby also had a very strong (and fast) heartbeat of 178. I'm also as far along as we thought I was, I'll be 10 weeks tomorrow, and our official due date is November 23, 2010. Isn't is crazy to think that we will get to meet this baby THIS year?
We met with Dr. Youkilis after the ultrasound, he was so sweet and Congratulatory. We are just so excited to start this journey again, it's very real now, and now I'm looking forward to actually feeling our little baby move inside my belly. :)

A Little Brighter

Things are looking a little bit brighter!

The EIGHT industrial fans were finnaaallly hauled out of here yesterday, it was so unbelievably QUIET without all that white noise we were used to for waaay too long!

I finally feel better, I think I still have a little bit of allergies but I can finally breathe again!
Gunner is sleeping through the night! This is the third night in a row...yaaaay!

Now the next steps to finishing the floor and the plumbing might not be so fun, but at least we are on our way to getting it over with!

Oh My!

A lot has been going on in the Williams' Household!

  1.  I'm still in the first trimester which means I'm EXHAUSTED. Case is such a sweet boy, and so good but it's still very difficult sometimes to keep up with him, and play with him as much as I'd like to.
  2.  Matt woke up one evening panicked about something, I asked him what was going on and he informed me that we had a fair amount of WATER underneath our kitchen and hallway flooring. (OH JOY!) We talked to our Insurance Agent, and things are starting to come together. It's going to be a long process though! The Servpro guys came in and ripped up the rest of the kitchen floor (Matt started it that evening) they put in EIGHT Industrial Fans that are L-O-U-D and quite annoying! They told us it may take a week or so to dry everything out. I'll just be glad when everything is back to normal and we have FLOORS again! I feel like our kitchen is just a wreck, and I have to enter a wind tunnel to fix all of our meals throughout the day, not fun!
  3. It had been a solid 80+ degrees for about a week, and of course our AC went out. I was absolutely miserable on Friday. I was so hot and overwhelmed with the fans and the allergies that attacked me since the windows had been open for the last few days. It just seemed like one more thing!
  4. We have a Puppy. Need I say more? :) He's actually a very good puppy, he has his moments of nipping and running around like a crazy thing but he's so patient and had been so great with Case, the only thing that's hard is that he doesn't sleep through the night yet!

I was joking with Matt that at least we were getting all of the hard stuff over with at one time! Shew!

Welcome Home Gunner!

Gunner is home!

The weekend finally rolled around, we were picking up our new puppy Saturday, April 10th! Nanny & Poppy drove in Friday evening so they could go with us to get him!

He was waiting in the crate of the office for us when we got there, he was pretty nervous at first, but was so sweet!

Gunner is such a sweet puppy, we are all in love with our new addition! :)

Baby #2

Baby #2!

Holy Cow!

Matt and I had decided that we wanted to start really trying for baby #2 around April. We had gone back and forth between trying then or in the fall, but we both decided that we were ready sooner than later. (Although, we hadn't been preventing anything since January)

Well, I was getting pretty anxious and excited that April was just around the corner! I began looking up my favorite pregnancy websites again, brushing up on ovulation dates, pregnancy symptoms, the first trimester etc. Though all of this, I realized that I was a few days late. I didn't think anything of it, but mentioned it to Matt.

While cooking dinner, I was super moody and emotional (sorry Matt! :) and that evening Matt told me he thought I was pregnant.

"You are so pregnant" Matt says, smiling from cheek to cheek.
"No I'm not! I really don't think I am"
"You are so pregnant, I just have a gut feeling that you are"
"You're crazy, but I guess I'll get a test tomorrow"

I bought a 2 pack pregnancy test, and of course the first one was a dud. (The second one I took with Case was a dud and it scared me!) So I threw it away and told myself I wasn't pregnant anyway, and that I would just take the second one the next morning.

However, that afternoon, I went in the bathroom and the second test was right there on the counter so I went ahead and took it. It was a bright blue positive almost immediately. I didn't know what to do! I had butterflies in my stomach, I was shaking, I was shocked, nervous,  excited, happy, shocked, ecstatic, giddy...did I mention SHOCKED?

I just kept holding it saying out loud "Holy Cow, Holy cow, HOLY COW!"
I found my phone as quickly as I could and called Matt.

"Hello?"
"I'm PREGNANT!"
"Really??"
"HOLY COW MATT! HOLY COW! I'm PREGNANT!!! You were RIGHT!"
"I know!"

It went on like that until he finally had to get back to work :)

I was so shocked all day long, I didn't know what to do with myself! I suddenly looked at my toddler differently, he was now a big boy, a big brother! How was he going to handle a new baby in the house? Would he take to him/her? Would he be sad? Would he be jealous? How am I going to handle two kids? It's so scary and exciting and crazy!

I have to say though, even though I haven't quite wrapped my head around the fact that we are in fact having a second baby, I feel so blessed that it happened without all of the trying, and the constant wonder. Matt and I were so excited about trying for Case, but it was difficult at times because it took about 6 months, and I had several disappointments and false hopes. It was heartbreaking seeing that negative sign over and over, so I feel so lucky that we could skip all of that this time.

God has blessed us with this second baby, and we are so happy to be welcoming another addition to our already wonderful family. Case is unbelievable, and I know without a doubt in my mind that he will be an amazing big brother.

Can't wait to meet you Baby #2.
:)
