The Ball Park

Whether it's watching Daddy play softball, or watching his cousins play baseball and t-ball, we quickly discovered Case loves being at the ball park. He actually watches all the action, and claps along with the fans. Love it.

His shorts got a little heavy from playing in the mud puddle, how priceless is this picture?!

She is a fellow softball wife (also pregnant!) and was snapping pictures one night at the ball park, she brought Matt a CD, we popped it in our computer and fell in love with all of the pictures! Aren't they gorgeous??

Second Trimester, and Weekend Fun!

I'm finally there, I am 14 weeks, and officially in the second trimester! Woo hoo!

I started to feel 90% better around the 10 week mark, I still have a rough day here and there, and I still have days where I'm just exhausted, but overall I have been feeling so great! So thankful!

Also! I'm pretty sure I have started feeling the baby!!! I felt something sort of twisting and turning Saturday morning (May 22, 2010), and have felt it here and there since then...so exciting! :)

...

On a different note, Matt and I had such a great weekend! Our friends Kyle and Kimmie were getting hitched on Saturday, and since Matt was in the wedding and had rehearsal, and pictures and the whole wedding thing going on... and since we had hoped to spend a day at the lake with our friends, Chase and Alisa, we asked Nanny and Poppy if they'd like to watch Case for us! They said "Yes" (of course :) and so I met Case's Mamaw and Papaw in Moorehead on Friday so they could all spend some time with our sweet little man!

Matt's Mom had saved all of Matt's special toys from childhood (I have vowed to do this now!) and Case had an absolute blast! She had Matt's old playhouse, play car, sand pile, and Matchbox City ready for Case to play with, checking in she told us that he was playing so hard and was having so much fun! I love that Case has such a blast there!

When picking up Case Sunday evening, Matt and I were thanking them over and over again for watching little man so that we could have a busy but fun weekend, and they just kept thanking us for letting them watch him! I know that could seem like a little thing, but it means so much to me and it makes us so happy that they love him so much :)

Updates on the House!

I just wanted to put these on here for me, life is going by so fast these days, and I know that when we have moved on from this house I will enjoy looking back on these pictures! :)

Plus it's always fun to look at pictures of hard work and home improvements!

Here is our Yard Work! Matt and I (mostly Matt) mulched and pulled weeds, and Matt pulled all of the overgrown and half dead shrubs, and massive amounts of ivy in the backyard!

Remember our nightmare of a kitchen flood? Well after about a month of ripped up floors, LOUD industrial fans, and one heck of a mess...it's finally finished and looks beautiful!

Above:
I had to share my unbelievable deal at a yard sale! Case and I ventured out on Saturday morning, and I saw this gorgeous rug rolled up, hesitantly I asked the owner how much she wanted for it...and she replied "Ohh, I don't know five bucks"
"This rug?!?" (I know it was the worst thing a "bargainer" could do, I just couldn't hide my shock! I was fully prepared to spend my $50 in cash I had brought to buy this gorgeous thing!
So, I quickly said "Okay I'll take it!" and with a little carpet deodorizer, a few good vacuums, this rug was as good as new! I think it fits in perfectly with our living room, and I still can't believe I paid a measly $5 for such a beauty!

Where does it go?

I'm talking about time.

Yesterday, I realized that Case is going to 20 months old on the 22nd of May. 20 MONTHS OLD! That sounds too close to 24 months, which means he's going to be a 2 YEAR OLD! Where did my baby boy go?

Then I started thinking about the fact that it really is only 4 months until his birthday...and then I started thinking about how Case will be 2 years and 2 months old on the baby's due date...so that means baby is due in only 6 MONTHS?!

I have a feeling that this summer is going to fly by, this pregnancy has already been going at record speed because I am so busy with little man, and I simply don't have the time to think about how many weeks and days I am...I almost forgot I was 13 weeks this week!

I'm sad about my little man becoming a two year old, but excited about him talking more, and becoming more and more like a little person. Also, I'm so anxious to start feeling baby move and twist inside my belly. That is one of the very best things in the entire world. So, I'm having mixed feelings about this whole time flying thing :)

12 Weeks Pregnant!

Good-bye First Trimester, Hello Second!

I can't believe I'm in the last couple of weeks of my first trimester! Can't say I'm sad to see it over with though, the first trimester of both of my pregnancies have been so difficult. Even harder this time, since I have a little man to take care of! I usually nap when he does though, and my sweet hubby lets me head to bed whenever I need to when he gets home from work. The last few weeks have been better and better though, I finally have some energy back and am starting to feel like myself again!

It's SO strange with the second pregnancy, I'm so preoccupied with taking care of our little guy, cleaning, laundry, running errands, that I have to admit sometimes I forget there's a teeny baby growing in my belly! I'll be grabbing Case a string cheese or juice box and catch a glimpse of the ultrasound on the fridge, and I have to stop and smile, and then I remember seeing our baby move around like crazy on our first ultrasound...then I just get butterflies thinking about how exciting it is that our family is growing from a family of three to a family of four!

I had my second Doctor's appointment yesterday, they called me back and the nurse Dana said "So, you're 16 weeks and 4 days pregnant..."
"What? I'm pretty sure I'll  only be 12 weeks tomorrow..."
"It says your due date is October 23..."
"Hmm...he told me November 23...in fact I know it is..."
She looked through the chart, and realized Dr. Youkilis had written the wrong date on the top of my chart...
"Bless his heart...you should ask him about that!'
Ha! :)
Well, my Doctor had a student with him, and let her find the heartbeat with the doppler, she found it and shut if off after about two seconds! I was so sad I didn't get to listen longer, but she seemed so nervous that I didn't say anything :)

We asked Doctor Youkilis about the due date, and he laughed, said he had a blonde moment or something, and then said "I'm glad we figured that out now, that would have caused lots of problems!"

Doctor's appointment went well, he said all of my tests from the lab came back great, and I go back in 4 weeks (June 7) to hear the heart beat again, and they'll probably measure my belly. I'm going to take Case with me to that one, I'm so excited he'll be able to hear the heartbeat with me, even though he's probably too young to understand ... yet

Our Song

Matt and I  have lots of "songs" but this one makes me smile the most...(well this and "Til' Kingdom Come" by Coldplay...that was our wedding song) but we first heard this entire song together while at our friend Aker's land for a weekend trip. Everyone had gone back up to the house, and Matt and I just wrapped our arms around each other and listened to this song and looked out onto the beautiful country landscape, I think I fell in love with him all over again that night :)

(You can pause the music on my page (right side of the blog, under the pictures) by clicking on the "Pause button" so you aren't listening to two things at once) :)

My Tough Little Guy

Case has the sweetest heart, he's cuddly, he gives kisses and hugs, he runs, he romps, he slides belly first on the carpet after running at full speed, he climbs on couches, he jumps off of couches, he climbs the stairs, he hops in his crib, he plays hard, he throws balls, he pushes his cars and trucks while saying "Vroom vroom", he rides his truck, he skins his knees, he rolls in the grass, he puts mulch on his head, he eats worms.  He is a boy, and we absolutely love him!
