End Of The Season

Man, has this fall been fun.

A beach trip, a new preschool, but one of the best things about this fall, hands down...
is that Case started t-ball.

We have been dreaming about the days of tee ball.
Since Case was a teeny tiny little thing, he has loved throwing balls, and playing baseball.
It started in church nursery, when they would tell us, when we picked up him up,
that our kid seriously had an arm.
Then he started playing baseball with our neighbors every summer.
He started watching baseball with Daddy.
We took him to a Legend's game, and he actually watched the game.
At three years old he was clapping when they hit it, and "aww man"ed it when they struck out.

He was one of the youngest on the team, but he proved right away that he was going to have fun.
He absolutely loved it.
He gave it his all.
Every practice, every game.

One Sunday, he was tagged out, but reached the base and felt he deserved to stay on base.
Well, the coaches gently explained he was out, and to head on back to the dugout.
Case has a melt down.
A MELT DOWN.
He cried in the dug out.
He cried walking back to play outfield.
He cried even after two Dad's and a coach tried to talk to him.
He cried....Oh wait...the ball was coming toward him...
Case stopped crying.
Got the ball.
Threw it to first.
Went back to his position.
Kid you not,
started crying again.

Seriously, kid?

Well, next time the teams switched, he shook it off and dropped his attitude.
He actually got the game ball that night.
Coach said it was because even though he had a melt down,
he came back to the game with a great attitude.

After he got the game ball that day, I was a little worried he would think
if he threw a fit, then stopped he would get a game ball every time! Ha!!

...

The season flew by, as the last game on Sunday approached,
we couldn't believe how fast the season flew by!

We feel so blessed that Daddy was able to help coach.
That our little man could have his Daddy out on the field with him.
No matter what, unless Matt was out of town, he made it work to be there.
Priceless.

From the very first practice that was rained out and broke our kids heart,
to the last game, it has been an absolute blast.

Our Assistant coach giving me a hard time about taking a million pictures,
and for cheering too loudly and making Case lose his focus! Hee! ;)

Case did need to make sure all his fans were watching before he went up to bat! :)

By the way, that's Case's new tee from Uncle Beel & Mimi!
He shared it with his team! :)

Meanwhile, little brother loved picking up walnuts, and testing how far he could sneak away from Momma!

A sweet Mom made cupcakes for all the teammates for the last game,
with their names on them and everything!

Another Mom organized a giftcard we all chipped in on for the coach and his wife.
All of the coaches were truly wonderful.
We had an amazing group of kids.

Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Come on Spring!
