Subtle vs Not So Subtle

So our 3 year old is one sneaky little ninja.

He very quietly will sneak into our bed at night,
and Matt and I are completely unaware of his presence.

He has his little tricks.
I found this out, as I was up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night,
and saw him walk in one night.
So I decided to watch.
He opens our door, and doesn't close it.
He walks veeeerrry sloooowly to the foot of our bed.
In literal slow motion, he climbs up,
Matt moved around a little bit,
and he FROZE and dropped down.
(It was hilarious)
then he waits...and tries again.
Then he crawls over the blankets, like a lion hunting prey,
then snuggles down into the blankets and lays his head down on a pillow.
Cracks me up.

...AND then there's our 5 year old.

Kid is not subtle.

I can hear their door shut, him stumble/stomp all the way down the hall way.
He opens and shuts our door.
(As if nobody was sleeping, and it wasn't 3 in the morning)
stomps right over to me, inches from my face,
and in a completely normal voice,
(he doesn't believe in soft voices at 3am apparently)
and says,
"MOMMY? I need a tissue."
or
"MOMMY! I had a bad dream"
or whatever it might be.

Thankfully the not so subtle kid very rarely wakes up,
as he is a sleeper like his Daddy.
Kid falls asleep in literally seconds, something I will always envy about them!

Rhett is like his Mommy, takes him a while to settle down,
and is a very light sleeper.

Thankfully we've been working on this habit for the last few weeks,
started thinking it might be time,
as I will up with a tiny hungry newborn all night soon,
and we need the boys to sleep in their own beds.

34 week check up

It was a very quick appointment this morning!

I dropped the boys off at preschool this morning,
and headed to the hospital. My appointment was at 9:45am, I arrived a little early,
and was back in my car by 10am!

Dr. Y didn't have a student with him this time,
so I was curious to see how I measured!
I was 36 cm, which means 2 weeks ahead!

I am getting SO curious to see when Adley will make her appearance!
Everyone I talk to about it thinks she'll be here early,
with my measurements I am starting to think the same!

Matt thinks I'll be very early like 2-3 weeks early.
Ahh!

I still have some things to check off my to do list before she arrives!!! ;)
I'm banking on at least 5 more weeks!

My Doctor has also been joking that she'll be 8 lbs 15 oz, to keep with the trend.
Case was 6 lbs 15 oz, and Rhett was 7 lbs 15 oz.
Call me crazy, but I'd be just fine if she wasn't 1 oz away from NINE POUNDS oh my!
(Of course you know, we just want a healthy baby)

It's so fun to make guesses, it will be fun to look back on when she arrives,
and see how close we were!

Getting soooo close!
Can't believe in 2 weeks, he will begin to check me, and I have a check up every single week.
Oh my goodness.

I need a dust ruffle and curtains for her room STAT! ;)

Spring T-Ball Season has started!

After having to cancel a few practices due to the NEVER ENDING WINTER,
We were all excited about warmer practices and our first game of the season!

Here's a practice, that turned into a scrimmage with another team!
So much fun.

and finally, our first game of the season!
GO RED SOX!

...please excuse the blurry, phone pictures, we were in a rush to get to the field on time as we were meeting Daddy at the ball park!

Love these boys!
Love being back at the ball park!

32 Week Check Up

I couldn't wait to ask him
about this whole measuring ONE MONTH ahead thing.

He had a student with him this time though,
not to mention the office was SUPER busy.
He lets the students lead the appointment,
so that, and the fact that I had on jeans that seemed hard to measure my belly in,
had a lot to do with the fact that she measured me very quickly, and blurted out that I was measuring at 32.

I was skeptical of this, as obviously I was measuring way ahead just 2 weeks ago. Hmm.
{My sister and I talked about it, and wondered if she just panicked and said the # of weeks I am.
(since that is usually how you should measure up)}

I asked him briefly,
"So I'm measuring back on track?"
and he said "Oh looks like it, back on track."

That was about it.

Boo.

Well, I'll see him again in 2 weeks!

Growing belly!

28 Weeks, with a cute 5 year old photo bomber. :)

Here's the Rhetter man using my belly as a mountain for his cars.

2 days shy of 30 weeks, she's definitely growing!

I had my 30 week check up on March 26th,
after my Doctor measured me, he said,
"I think this is going to be your biggest baby yet!"
"What? Why?" I asked
"Because you are measuring 4 weeks ahead, you are measuring at 34 weeks!"
"FOUR WEEKS AHEAD?!"

Whaaat?
That is an entire month ahead.
I was too shocked to ask if he thought she would just be humongous or come out early,
couldn't wait to ask him at my next appointment!

Home stretch baby.
Home stretch.

Protective Big Brother

I wanted to remember this sweet little story...

Matt and I took the boys to a McDonald's play place after church on Sunday,
and a little boy started chasing Rhett around and "Roaring".
For some reason, this scared Rhett, even though,
literally, as in I'm dead serious that's all Rhett does all day long. Ha!

So Rhett ran over to me a couple of times,
and told me that the little boy was scaring him,
I joked with him, that he was just being a T-Rex like he plays all the time.

Well a few minutes later, it happened again,
but this time Case has witnessed it.
Case and Rhett ran over to me together,
along with the little boy.
Case stood behind Rhett, wrapping one of his arms around Rhett's chest,
and the other securely on Rhett's head, in complete protection mode,
staring this boy down, that was still "roaring" away.

We found out the cute little boy was being a Ninja turtle,
and the boys went on their way to all play together again.

It just warmed my heart sooo much to see Case being so protective,
and taking care of his little brother!
...even if this time he wasn't in any real danger of a teeny ninja turtle. ;)

If I'm being honest...

This pregnancy is sort of kicking my butt!

I remember vividly how different my second pregnancy with Rhetter was,
it's so different when you have one already,
there are days you almost forget you are pregnant,
with so much to do with a toddler (aka The Case man) running around.

This time, I have two little boys.
A 5 year old and a three year old.
As you can imagine, they are non stop.
Not only are they running around, they are jumping, sliding, somersaulting,
fighting, and testing. Sweet little crazies...did I mention they are testing?
Some days my patience is running on fumes from the start,
and quickly disintegrates into nothing, long before Daddy gets home.
On the good days I have patience, but it only lasts until about 4pm.
I hate these days, I have so much Mommy guilt about not being an energetic, "fun" Mom all day long.
It's hard being pregnant with two other little ones.
Just being honest.

In the evenings, when my sweet, amazing husband comes home,
gives me a huge hug, and tells me to go lay down in bed...I often just burst into tears!
One, because I'm so exhausted and so unbelievably thankful at the thought of just laying down.
Two, because I feel so awful that he is coming home from a long day of work, cooks dinner and plays with the boys and the big dog every night, while I'm upstairs being the emotional, crying preggo.
{sigh}

He tells me on the nights that I'm a bawling, blubbering mess,
that I am making a baby, I am not doing "nothing" that I am not "worthless"
and that he loves coming home to help in any way he can.
I assure him I am these things, and he reassures me that I'm not.

It's a vicious cycle,
I try and remember to talk to God about this,
whenever I am overwhelmed by these feelings.
However, I often just start apologizing for not being better,
which leads to my downward spiral of feeling worthless all over again.
Blah! Why am I so hard on myself?
Why are Mom's so hard on themselves?

Lord knows I need to turn to Him daily, instead of when I can't handle it anymore.
Something I am working on...
I tend to feel like I'm bothering him with the little stuff,
when I know there are so many more things going on in this world!
I will never forget a sermon I heard once though,
that God loves hearing the little things.
God wants us to trust Him with our hearts,
all of our hearts, thoughts and self.

Will be praying on this, this week.

This precious baby girl that we can't wait to meet
is kicking my tail, but so very thankful for this precious miracle of life growing inside my tummy.
I feel her all throughout the day now, especially in the evenings while resting.
I can see my belly move and jump,
the boys are starting to feel her more and more as well.
However, she's a sneaky one, she likes to stop moving as soon as another hand rests on my belly. :)
My growing belly is making my back hurt,
I have new zits every other day,
I'm so sore all over by the end of the day,
heartburn,
exhaustion,
zero patience,
oh man.
It's all worth it though,
but sure makes the days long...and this never ending winter is not helping my blues.

I know we will get through this, and one day I'll read this post and laugh,
remembering the trenches of daily life with littles and pregnancy, and even miss it.
Thankful for perspective, thankful for the baby, thankful for my amazing family.
I'm feeling a little flighty on my thoughts now, so I'm going to wrap it up before I keep rambling.

Just one more thing,
I have gained 9, nine, NINE pounds since my last appointment 4 weeks ago.
Holy cow.
...and also my appt in 4 weeks is my glucose test and then I go to the Dr. every 2 weeks.
WHAT?!

Picking out paint samples for the nursery was a huge highlight of my week.

Alright, that's all.
